Beacon Exercise

The 2026 BEACON Exercise is a functional emergency communications exercise that simulates the aftermath of a catastrophic California earthquake. This is not a discussion-based event—it’s about testing what you have, what you know, and how well you can communicate when infrastructure is down.

Participants will operate as if it were the real thing—no internet, no landlines, and no do-overs. Respond using only your agency’s existing plans, protocols, and procedures. You will perform your actual roles—or roles aligned with your capabilities—using the tools you realistically have access to during a real disaster.

Date: Thursday, April 30, 2026

Time: 09:00 – 17:00 PDT (8 hours total)

Location: Your operational area – play where you work!
